Transport - getting to Druimard
The Isle of Mull lies off the West coast of Scotland and is most easily reached by using the regular ferry service which runs from the busy town of Oban. The ferry lands at Craignure on the Isle of Mull after a short trip of about forty minutes. The map below shows where Mull is in relation to the rest of Scotland.
Dervaig is in the North West corner of Mull at the head of Loch Cuin. It is easily reached from Craignure by turning right from the ferry terminal and then following the main road towards Salen. From Salen, head north towards Tobermory, the main village in Mull, until you reach a junction about a mile north of Salen. Take the left fork, signposted Dervaig and keep going for about 8 miles. You will soon be in Dervaig. The map below shows the main Mull roads.
Druimard house is about 1 mile before Dervaig on the right hand side of the road.
For Ferry timetables and further information on fares, booking etc, have a look at the ferry operators web site: www.calmac.co.uk.
For those of you who have a light aircraft, there is an airfield at Glenforsa, 1 mile south of Salen (see middle map above). We occasionally have guests who arrive by air! Helicopters can land near the bridge in the village - we can collect you!
There is also an airfield at North Connel, near Oban.
Car hire is available on the Island. Cars may be hired from Bayview Garage in Craignure (01680 812444) or from Mackays Garage in Tobermory (01688 302103).
Taxis are available from Tobermory Taxis 07810 666222 or Mull Taxi Service 07760 426351
